New to the World

Hear thee, hear thee.....This inaugural event will not run 48.5 million like the one in DC....nor will it be as lengthy, as eloquent, and there won't be a Neighborhood Ball....

Here I sit after work, watching my baby (puppy) gnaw his bone to nothing, and listening to him growl- open mouthed, mind you- at the TV (there was a bark on the program). Life is good. One thing you might notice throughout the life of this blog is that I have a tendency to ramble about the things that make me happy- my husband, my dog, my friends, my family, and my work.  I read a quote today that served its purpose in inspiring me:
"People rarely succeed unless they have fun in what they are doing." Dale Carnegie

But how would you define success? Would you agree with the above statement, or would it be something like this:
"Two rules of success in life: 1. Don't tell people everything you know."Anonymous

It probably goes without saying that I am a PT. I help people. I watch people get better. Sometimes people don't get better. Or maybe they don't reach all of my somewhat lofty goals....they still come into my life, I into theirs, and an impact is made is some way, shape, or form. They become more inspired; they might have a smile on their face when I remember that their 43rd anniversary with their spouse is coming up; sometimes it happens when I admit that I don't know the answer to their medical diagnosis being treated, but that I'll make my best effort to help....I have the opportunity to come into a life, and try my darndest (I know that's not a word/correct spelling, but that's how it comes out) to make a difference....in their confidence/self efficacy....in their pain....in their dysfunction....in their quality of life. It's a great profession.  At the age of 26: 6 months into practicing as a licensed PT, 3 months after being a new wife, and 2 months after becoming a new mommy (hehe), I have a taste of success...I have fun.

So, how much fun are you having out there? How have you experienced success in your life?

The puppy is now sound asleep in my lap.....it's been a rough day. :)
